In the preparation for the Tea Ceremony
the Tea Master will prepare
something appropriate for the moment,
a painting, a flower arrangement, a poem,
and place them in a Tokonoma.
It is often wise to put things down on paper
it clarifies the idea, and allows others to share your insight.
A photograph and a haiku.
In fog one flies
from known to familiar.
Flee habitual,
Seek new.
